OUR BOOKS

DESTINY DISCOVER

Our Union Ridge library catalog is fully accessible online using Destiny Discover. Create an account to keep track of what books you have out, place books on hold, write book reviews, and recommend books to your students or teachers. If you need help, contact Mrs. Jubilee.

RESEARCH

FVRL CONNECT

Digital databases are primary and secondary sources that provide verified and accurate information to students. The databases listed on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library website are reliable and many have citations already made for your students. In addition, these databases are free of questionable content often found on the internet. All RSD students have free access to these resources. Contact Mrs. Jubilee Roth for your child's login.

IN THE LIBRARY WE LEARN...

...the love of reading

In the library we want kids to find books they love, that they are excited about. So we offer a wide variety of books for our kiddos to read!

We try to find books that kids already love and introduce them to new ones that teach and open windows and doors to life outside their small world.

...how to use the library, research and resources, be critical thinkers

-In K-4, we get the opportunity to learn how to use the library. We learn how to locate specific books we are interested in and may need to use for assignments and study.

-We study all genres of literature including fiction and non-fiction and various sub-genres (like realistic fiction, mystery, fantasy, etc.).

-Learn about online safety and skills kids can do to be safe.

LIBRARY POLICIES

Mrs. Dorothy and Mrs. Jubilee

Students in Kindergarten are able to check out one book at a time. Students in 1st-4th are allowed to check out two books at a time.

Books can be checked out for up to 3 weeks. Students can always come back to the library with a pass to return and check out new books during the week.

If books are overdue, notices are given to students on their library day and an email goes out on Sundays to the primary guardian and student's email. We also send out notices during grading periods. There is no charge for overdue books; however, it is necessary to pay for or replace lost and damaged books. Lost book fines may be paid online or the school office. Please email jubilee.roth@ridgefieldsd.org if you have any questions.

RSD Libraries

The Ridgefield School District libraries’ purpose is two-fold: to instill a life-long love of reading and to create a community of critical thinkers who can efficiently use, evaluate, and produce information in order to be a contributing member of society.
