PSAT & ASVAB Testing October 13, 2023 09:45 AM - 12:15 PM PSAT is a practice version of the SAT test. Administered for Sophomores (10th grade) and Juniors (11th grade), this practice test can alleviate some of the anxiety of taking the SAT for students. It can also provide an early idea of score ranges. In some instances, it can also lead to more money for college. The highest performers on this exam are eligible to earn certain scholarships. There is a $20 fee to take the PSAT test. Although it is used for entry into the military, it is not limited to just that future path. ASVAB scores give students insight into their options and aid them in planning their next step after high school. The ASVAB is a free test. After receiving feedback from families about the need for expanded transportation options in the district, The Ridgefield School District and our bus service partners at KWRL Transportation are making some changes to assist parents and guardians in finding reliable before and after school care for their children. Traditionally, our buses have only offered student transportation to/from a family’s residence or a licensed daycare provider. But beginning soon, families will have the ability to select a second address where students can be picked up or dropped off for regularly scheduled daycare or secondary custodians. Please note that any pickup/drop-off address must be within your home school’s boundaries, and must be part of a set schedule (for example, AM pickup at address #1, PM drop-off at address #2, or M/W/F/ address #1 and T/Th address #2). Occasional destination changes can still be made via a signed parental/guardian note. In keeping with district policy, Choice Transfer students will still not have access to RSD transportation services. If you have questions regarding school boundaries or updating your students’ records, please contact Ridgefield School District Registrar Brenna Dunkle at email@example.com or by calling (360) 619-1309. For questions regarding school bus assignments and bus stops, please contact KWRL Transportation at (360) 841-2023.
If you have students in the district and need additional school supplies or other resources, please visit the Ridgefield Family Resource Center. The RFRC has extended hours the week of August 21-25. See the included image for hours.
