REGISTRATION:

• We are very excited to announce that the Ridgefield School District has partnered with FinalForms, an online data management service that allows you to complete and sign athletic/activity participation forms for your student(s).

• The most exciting news is that FinalForms allows you to register your student for all sports/activities at one time for the entire school year! It saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, saving you time.

• You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any updates.

• Click on the Parent Playbook to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Get Help”.

• Please register at: https://ridgefield-wa.finalforms.com/ and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students, and sign your forms.

START DATES:

• RHS Football/Cheer, August 21st (*cheer only for those that have already tried out and made a team).

• All other RHS fall sports and VRMS Football, August 26th. 

• All other VRMS fall sports, September 3rd. 

• Specific information regarding practice times will be sent to families once your registration is complete. 

• Please register as early as possible to avoid last minute registration issues. 

PHYSICALS:

• Medical physicals are required to play sports.

• They are good for 24 months and must be administered by a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Physician’s Assistant (PA), or Naturopathic Physician.

• Upload the completed form to your FinalForms registration page, email it to us, or submit a hard copy to the school office.

FEES: 

• High School (9-12): $75 Participation Fee (per sport), yearly purchase of a $35 ASB card. Activity fees vary.

• Middle School (7-8): $50 Participation Fee (per sport), yearly purchase of a $30 ASB card. Activity fees vary. 

• The fees may be waived if you qualify for the Federal Lunch Program and have signed the District Consent to Share form. 

• Fees will be assigned after tryouts and teams have been selected. 

INSURANCE: 

• It is required that your student has medical insurance. If you would like to purchase Accident Insurance, the district contracts with Myers-Stevens & Toohey.

ADDITIONAL FORMS:

• If you are a Running Start, Alternative Ed, Exchange Student or a Home-Based Ed student, please fill out the corresponding WIAA form. These must be submitted before eligible for competition. These links are also on the FinalForms site. 

• Are you new to our school, transferring from another high school, where you participated in athletics? Please complete this form (WIAA New Student Packet) and return it to the athletic office via email. 

ATTENDANCE/GRADES:

• In order to attend practice or compete in an event, RSD students are required to attend all classes in a school day. Students more than 10 minutes late to class are considered absent. 

• If absent due to illness, the student will not be eligible to participate in a practice or contest on that day.

• Excused absence from school for any part of the day must be accompanied with documentation for reason/s other than illness (ex. doctor appointment, court appearance). 

• Please pre-arrange all other excusable absences with the athletic office. 

• This information is included in the code of conduct and is required to acknowledge and sign during the registration process for every sport by both the parent and athlete. 

• Students must be passing all classes/be in good standing in order to compete in an event. 

SPORTS PASSES:

• Yearly sports passes are available for purchase. These passes are valid for all regular season home events at RHS and VRMS. They can be purchased at the ASB/Athletic offices after August 17th, at some of the first home events, or anytime once the school offices open for the year.

• $100 Family Pass (those within the same household)

• $50 Individual Pass

SPUDDER ORIENTATION

• Orientation for all high school students is on August 20th from 8am-3pm. You will be able to get help with athletic registration, pay fees/fines, purchase ASB cards and yearbooks, submit sports physicals, as well as buy sports passes on this day. 

2024-2025 SCHOOL CALENDAR 

We will see all VRMS students back at school on August 28th. For RHS, the first day for all new students and incoming freshmen is August 28th. The first day for all returning students is August 29th. 

Please know that athletic secretaries will be out of the office over the summer. We will return any emails/inquiries starting mid-August.
